The price in Poland is now 1129 PLN in the manufacturer's store. On Amazon the IW3611EU model costs around 277 EUR. In the USA the set with the base launched at 599 USD.
How it scored in independent tests
RTINGS rated the IW3511 model 7.1 out of 10. The editors praise allergen sealing and the docking station. TechRadar praises low weight and effective automation. GearLab gave 62 out of 100 points and 15th place out of 21.
Strong points in tests are hard floors. In Modern Castle trials the device collected 99.1 percent of dirt from parquet. Weaker results concern thick carpets and pet hair ground into rugs. The small 0.42 l bin fills up quickly with sand.
An American NBC reviewer used it for 8 months with two cats. Her allergy became easier to manage. The base with the odour neutraliser did not give off an unpleasant smell. This is an important voice, as it confirms the manufacturer's promises of 1000 times less contact with dust.
A vacuum with a HEPA filter plus an air purifier make a good duo if you fight dust at home.
Who it suits and who it does not
Allergy sufferers and pet owners will like this device. Self-emptying limits contact with dust. The Anti Hair Wrap brush does not catch long hair. The light body makes carrying it upstairs easier.
The base needs a permanent spot near a socket. A small flat with no corner for the station will be a problem. Noise in Boost mode is irritating in the evening. Thick carpets require a stronger model from the PowerDetect line.
Verdict
The Shark Detect Pro is an exceptional cordless vacuum that introduces a range of innovations, simplifying everyday cleaning. Despite the fairly high price and a few minor inconveniences such as noise or the need for space for the base, the Shark Detect Pro is a device that will work in every home – especially for allergy sufferers and pet owners.
A year after launch the assessment still holds. Prices have dropped to around 1129 PLN in Poland. Tests confirm effectiveness on hard floors and at edges. The 45-day base is real convenience for allergy sufferers.
