An Explosive Couple in the ForeverGuilty Campaign

Gucci makes a great matchmaker. In its ForeverGuilty campaign it pairs beloved musicians Lana del Rey and Jared Leto. They appear on screen with an ostrich in a market and a tiger in a laundromat. Are the advertised perfumes equally surprising?

It was Lana del Rey's debut. Jared Leto had already been "guilty" of Gucci collaborations, e.g. the January #TheNorthFacexGucci collection. When the first post and first couple photo were published, comment sections literally caught fire. Audiences loved the duo, some quietly dreaming of their joint single. Proclaimed king and queen of this year's Valentine's, they appear in Glen Luchford's atmospheric photos and an Alessandro Michele-directed commercial.

Scenery quintessentially 60s America features exotic animals, red convertibles, beehive hairstyles and lots of shimmering jets. Meanwhile the blasé-faced waitress is none other than Courtney Love, perfectly fitting the truly American mood.

But is this year's Valentine scent equally surprising? The combo is meant as a "modern declaration of passion" with a "poetic message of love". What notes hide behind these romantic premises?

In Pour Femme we meet an unobvious blend of delicate mandora, amber, patchouli and refreshing bergamot mixed with pink pepper spiciness. The whole is softened by a floral mix with noticeable rose and violet accents. On the other side stands Pour Homme – a combination of concrete but perfectly balanced aromas of pink pepper, Italian lemon, neroli, French lavender, patchouli and cedarwood.

Thus Forever Guilty offers quite traditional but interestingly processed, refreshed scents for her and him. The perfumes do not stun, but intrigue and invite closer acquaintance.

Will it become your and your man's scent...?
