Home SPA – a Good Way to Unwind

Tips for preparing home SPA!
Everyone has days craving relaxation – nervous situations, stressful workdays or body fatigue showing. How to handle it? Alas, dream holidays must wait, but use what's at hand – time for a relaxing bath at home.
Ancient Romans already believed in water's beneficial effects on body and mind, building baths for citizens. Today's idea continues in wellness centres and SPA salons, named after Latin "Sanus Per Aquam" – "healthy through water". Nothing stops you creating a relaxing mood in your bathroom. Where to start?
Care for atmospheric setting
The right mood is the keyword. Play a relaxing playlist. Music soothes manners – harmonious, calm music calms nerves, easing tense bodies into unwinding. Remember warm light – the Danes hint with their happiness philosophy – hygge. Light plays a huge role – brightening darkness, adding cosiness. Stock candles near the tub, minding safety. Useful too are fireplaces with scented oils – lavender, sandalwood or rose scents silence and calm. With space prepared, time to run the bath.
Lots of foam!
Nobody wants to leave fragrant water filled to the brim with foam. That is the recipe for a successful bath – hot water with loads of bubbles! Use skin-moisturising bath oils or fizzing balls that dissolve, filling the bathroom with intense, pleasant flower, citrus or chocolate scents, gently foaming water. Definitely save extra rest time here to calmly gather thoughts and unwind. Reading a book or magazine, whole-body peeling or a relaxing sponge massage surely sweeten me-time.
Home SPA sponges
Though many cannot imagine bathing without them, others see them as a needless bathroom piece. A mistake!
Bath sponges have many faces, worth reaching for during home SPA. Their porous, soft, skin-pleasant structure gently peels, leaving skin smoother. For gentle massage, pick models with special nubs. Bath sponges with favourite gel keep skin clean, minimising washing product use. Such accessories make cosmetics more efficient, lasting longer, plus foam abundantly – a must for longer baths.
Finally, before trashing a worn sponge, use it for household chores – e.g. cleaning cars or garden furniture.
Legend says one of Cleopatra's beauty secrets was daily goat-milk baths. Today almost anyone can afford home SPA, a "feast" for mind and body alike. Enjoy!
