How to Choose the Right Air Purifier

Air quality hugely impacts our health. In winter we air our flats much less, so its quality can drop sharply. That in turn can negatively affect our wellbeing. So take care of healthy air in your home and reach for an effective purifier. What should you watch for when choosing one? Above all:

First, matching the room size

Start by determining the area where you want to purify air and choose the right device for it. A good solution is using two or three lower-capacity purifiers instead of one high-capacity air purifier, placing them in strategic rooms like the living room, bedroom or kids' room. Device designations are easy to check on the label, and often already included in the product name, as with Samsung AX32 or AX60 air purifiers. An important parameter is the CADR factor determining purifier efficiency. This indicator tells how many m3 of air the purifier can clean per hour of operation. Remember that a well-chosen device exchanges room air at least three times per hour.

Second, the filter type used

Choosing a device that effectively rids your home of smog and other pollution, go for an air purifier with an ultra-fine dust filter and carbon filter. A useful everyday aspect of using an air purifier is continuously monitoring home air quality. The laser dust sensor used e.g. in Samsung AX60, AX47 and AX90 purifiers enables more accurate control of pollution levels[iii]. It monitors air quality in real time, detecting particles sized from 1.0 ㎛ and gas-form pollution. The numeric display in these purifiers then shows the exact particle pollution level in PM1.0/2.5/10 fractions. Moreover, the display clearly marks air purity with a four-colour indicator.
