The Latest SS22 Lookbook. Alexander McQueen

Updated

I must note right away that I am totally enchanted by the latest Alexander McQueen collection

Creative director Sarah Burton presented her spring summer 2022 womenswear collection in London this October.

The collection is inspired by English poet, painter and printmaker William Blake, born in London in 1757. Drawing on imagination as pure escapism, it centres on lightness, air and water – on beauty emerging from blackness and darkness. One piece is an embroidered, corseted gown with shredded chiffon, tulle and organza skirt.

Looking at the life and legacy of famous English poet, painter and printmaker William Blake, the British house made new clothes more wearable art than modest wardrobe pieces. Keeping William Blake's legacy alive through every fibre of the new collection, McQueen turned to a moody pastel colour palette and the brushwork of multifaceted works in Dante's Divine Comedy, using them to inform every piece's textures and prints.

The McQueen design team created an organza corset dress with coral print, sculptural skirt and hand embroidery, touches of gold metal, crystal and coral satin stitch.
