Worth Knowing the Rules That Apply at SPA

What do you know about SPA etiquette?
Some of you probably wonder what SPA rules ensure a nice, pleasant time. Every hotel has its own SPA etiquette, but general behaviour norms are similar.
So planning body and mind care at a hotel SPA, know the savoir-vivre binding in such places. When everyone follows SPA etiquette, nothing disturbs rest comfort.
SPA behaviour norms
With most SPA treatments, for art's sake and respect for the therapist and other SPA zone users, do not worry about intimacy – you get disposable underwear, and before the treatment you stay alone in the room to prepare (cover whatever you want covered). Obviously keep hygiene (shower before massage and body treatment), do not be late (you mainly lose, treatment time shortens), do not talk on the phone, use no cameras, do not solicit (let SPA relax you and others), consume no alcohol (grounds to refuse treatment – for our safety and comfort, yours and the therapist's) and no stimulants like cigarettes, e-cigarettes and tobacco (cigarette smell clashes with SPA atmosphere). Better avoid heavy, fatty meals shortly before treatment or massage (side effects like possible gas, heaviness and fullness are not only unpleasant but may hinder staff or other SPA users). With skin cuts, safest to wait for healing; if you cannot wait, secure it well and inform the therapist.
After treatments you can often enjoy wellness tea rest, as e.g. in the Bio-renewal Rooms of Mazovian Manor House SPA hotel.
Remember, SPA is a place of rest and relaxation. Keep silence fostering calm, rest and regeneration, and do not talk loudly.

We share a golden list of 10 SPA behaviour rules, prepared by Manor House SPA head Malgorzata Przydacka of Poland's holistic SPA hotel, from her many years of work and numerous client experiences.
1. SPA is not a drugstore, book treatments ahead – reserve at least a week before arrival, securing your slot plus qualified staff helping choose treatments.
2. Makeup to SPA? – go ahead, but its removal counts into treatment time.
3. To shave or not? Beard, legs etc. – for mutual comfort shave, best about 7 hours before treatment.
4. Beautiful jewellery adorns a woman – at SPA focus on the body, not accessories, leave jewellery in the room.
5. The therapist won't be surprised by "nature", but why focus instead of relax – do not eat at least 1 hour before treatment.
6. Visit the toilet "just in case" before treatment.
7. Know the therapist cares about your comfort, so report discomfort during treatment, not after, at SPA reception or in an online review – nothing can change once treatment ends (too hot, too cold, too light, too strong etc.).
8. Alcohol affects all body systems – the therapist's too, so do not compete with alcohol. We do not admit people after alcohol.
9. Silence is needed to relax – if you do not need it, remember others you may disturb.
10. You plan, organise, dislike last-minute cancellations. Respect our time, cancel treatments at least 12 hours ahead.
